Autoliv continues its journey to lean.
'Leading2Lean CEO Keith Barr said Autoliv executives understood lean manufacturing.
But "they lacked a method to automate their lean behaviors and engage the entire workforce," Barr said.
The first big solution was making a Web browser page available to production workers. If an operator's machine went down, he or she could report the incident in the system.
A maintenance technician with access to the same page would be notified right away. Line workers no longer had to wander off in search of help.'
